2022 AFCC-IL Conference

On October 20, 2022, Attorneys Maxine Weiss Kunz and Kyle Sellett attended the annual conference of the Illinois Chapter of the Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC-IL). The conference included multiple highly informative presentations and panel discussions on topics related to mental health risks that affect children who are involved in family law cases. Attorney Amanda M. Oliver Receives Chicago Daily Law Bulletin’s 40 Under Forty Award for 2020

ELMHURST, IL (PRWEB) OCTOBER 22, 2020

Chicago family law attorney Amanda Oliver

Attorney Amanda M. Oliver of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC with offices in Chicago, Park Ridge, and Elmhurst, recently received the 40 Under Forty award for 2020 from the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin. Amanda is a Partner of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC, where she focuses her practice on complex pre-decree and post-decree dissolution proceedings, parentage matters, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

For the past two decades, the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin selects 40 of the most talented young attorneys in Illinois. This year, the competition was fierce, with more than 1,500 nominations. To be recognized takes not only success in the courtroom but an outstanding work ethic and a passion for helping people in the community.

Amanda’s guiding principle for her work is to do what is right for the client and their family, not just what is easy. This is apparent in her daily practice, as she navigates often volatile family law matters with knowledge and grace. Her confidence translates to her clients, allowing them a sense of ease during what is an otherwise unnerving time in their lives. Amanda has achieved many notable outcomes for her clients, both through litigation and settlement. Most recently, she successfully argued to maintain confidentiality in court ordered therapy sessions for her client and her client’s minor children pursuant to 750 ILCS 5/607.

Chicago Family Law Firm Welcomes Attorney Julie A. Johnson

Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC, a family law firm with offices in Elmhurst, Park Ridge, and Chicago, Illinois, is proud to announce that Attorney Julie A. Johnson has joined the firm. Attorney Johnson will serve as Of Counsel, and she will expand and strengthen the firm’s family law practice with her distinguished advocacy capabilities and appellate law background. “There are a multitude of reasons we are excited to have Julie join the firm, including that we trust that Julie shares our dedication to treating clients with respect and zealously advocating for them at all times, in addition to her frequent success in the Illinois Appellate Court,” said principal Maxine Weiss Kunz.

As a skilled and experienced attorney, Attorney Johnson is well versed in all aspects of matrimonial and family law, including crafting pre-nuptial agreements, adoption, divorce, complex financial matters, parentage, child support, allocation and modification of parental responsibilities, relocation out of state, and domestic violence. Attorney Johnson routinely negotiates financial settlements and parenting agreements, without the need for litigation and masterfully litigates both motions and evidentiary trials when needed. Using her acumen for written legal argumentation, Ms. Johnson has also developed a successful niche appellate practice, making right the errors that occur in family trial court. Using a unique approach that combines both formidable legal advocacy and empowering clients with effective tools for disengagement from toxic conflict, Attorney Johnson has earned her reputation for excellent client-conscious representation.

“Julie has built her practice techniques on the fundamentals. She is well versed in the law and supporting cases and she holds both opposing counsels and Judges accountable with her knowledge. She is a wonderful combination of the person you want both standing with you in court and drafting your pleading. This combination of skills is rare.” – Amanda M. Oliver, Principal.
