Maxine Weiss Kunz
Maxine Weiss Kunz is a Founding Member and Principal of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC. She has concentrated her practice solely in family law since 2005, including: traditional litigation, adoptions, and collaborative law. Maxine also has a wealth of experience in drafting, negotiating, and prosecuting Premarital Agreements (and Postnuptial Agreements). She is also certified to practice collaborative law in Illinois. Maxine has been recognized many times in the legal community for her achievements, including her selection as a Super Lawyer for years 2017-2024 and in 2019 as one of 40 Under 40 Attorneys to Watch by the American Society of Legal Advocates. Maxine has sat on the board of the Collaborative Law Institute of Illinois and is a certified mediator through the Center for Conflict Resolution and the Cook County courts. She is also on the board of the AFCC (Association of Family and Conciliation Courts), a professional group dedicated to education, research, and identifying best practices in family law systems. In addition to representing parties, Maxine is also certified for appointment to represent children in her capacity as a Child Representative or Guardian ad Litem, in Cook County.

Amanda M. Oliver
Amanda M. Oliver (formerly Amanda M. Sleezer) is a Partner of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC. Ms. Oliver has focused on cases involving child custody, visitation, child support and parentage matters, estate valuation and account tracing, prenuptial agreements, and various other pre-decree and post-decree issues.
A graduate of Millikin University (B.A. Political Science/Pre-Law, 2003) and The John Marshall Law School (J.D. 2006), Ms. Oliver has interned with The Children’s Law Center and The Employment Justice Center in Washington, D.C., as well as with both litigation and family law firms in Chicago. Ms. Oliver was also elected to The John Marshall Journal of Computer and Information Law (JCIL).

Kyle Sellett
Kyle D. Sellett is a Partner of Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC, and brings to the firm his experience in a wide variety of matters including divorce, parentage, asset division, adoption, premarital agreements, modification of parental responsibilities (custody), maintenance and child support modification among others. Kyle routinely handles cases in Cook, DuPage and Will County; however, his skill sets are transferable to all jurisdictions.
Kyle earned his degree from The John Marshall Law School in 2015 and has been practicing family law since 2018. By 2020 he was named a Partner at his previous law firm due to his relentless dedication to his clients and co-workers alike. What drew him to the area of family law is his desire and dedication to helping individuals. He understands that the process of a divorce or parentage case can be stressful and mentally exhausting, and he takes each file as an opportunity to help a client open up a new chapter of their lives for themselves and their family members.

Jennifer L. Fox is a Partner at Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC, she has a reputation for delivering measurable and meaningful results through dedication to her clients.
After earning her degree from the Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2016, Jennifer practiced family law for a boutique family law firm based out of Lake County, IL. She was soon running cases solo and developing decisive plans to accomplish client goals. Jennifer determines the best course of action for each client by carefully considering the individual circumstances of each case, and the client’s goals and needs. Jennifer is skilled in settlement negotiation, mediation, and traditional litigation. She has worked on cases involving complex financial estates, as well as cases involving contentious custody disputes.

Alexis has practiced exclusively in the area of Family Law since graduating from John Marshall Law School in 2016. Her experience in domestic violence, allocation of parental responsibilities determination, relocation, and the division of low and high asset marital estates, has allowed Alexis to provide her clients with excellent and skilled legal representation.
During her tenure at John Marshall Law School, Alexis worked as a 711 student at the John Marshall Domestic Violence Clinic. Alexis graduated with the goal of providing meaningful and quality legal service in all areas of family and matrimonial law.

Julie A. Her practice is centralized to Cook, DuPage, Lake and Will Counties.

Kelsey joined Weiss-Kunz & Oliver as an associate attorney after spending two years practicing at a boutique law firm that concentrated in catastrophic personal injury. Kelsey recognizes that sometimes going through a divorce can feel like a catastrophic injury to the parties involved. Through this work, Kelsey learned how to listen and understand her clients’ needs; and she learned the importance of ensuring her clients were informed and comfortable in what the next steps would be in their case. Kelsey strives to make sure that her clients are heard and that she zealously advocates for her clients’ interests.
