Veronica Harper is an associate at Weiss-Kunz & Oliver, LLC. She handles all areas of family law, including divorce, adoptions, prenuptial agreements, and parentage cases. Veronica is also skilled at helping clients with enforcement issues growing out of any of the within cases, such as if a former spouse is not complying with their Judgment of Dissolution of Marriage and Marital Settlement Agreement (Petitions for Rule to Show Cause). Veronica is committed to thoroughly understanding and vigorously representing her clients' needs.

Veronica joined Weiss-Kunz & Oliver after serving as a judicial law clerk with the Circuit Court of Cook County. As a judicial law clerk, Veronica primarily provided legal research and support to judges, assisted with drafting legal opinions and court memoranda for judges, and courtroom management. This role provided her with unique, behind the scenes experience in the courthouse and with Judges. Prior to her time as a judicial law clerk, Veronica worked at a boutique real estate and estate planning law firm. Before her law career, Veronica served as a Forensic Behavioral Analyst, where she developed key skills in assisting clients reintegrate into society and connecting them with necessary resources. Through these various positions, Veronica has learned the importance of having a commitment to excellence, integrity, and EMPATHY.

Veronica received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from California State University, Sacramento and earned a Juris Doctor from the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) School of Law. While at UIC Law, Veronica was actively engaged in various roles and student-run organizations such as serving on the Review of Intellectual Property Law Journal. Most notably, Veronica gained hands-on experience as a Student Attorney at the UIC Legal Center & Clinic, which showcased her dedication to public interest law. In her capacity as a Student Attorney at the UIC Clinic, Veronica was exposed early in her legal career to direct client contact, consultation, and building the skills required to forge relationships with those clients.

Outside of work, Veronica enjoys traveling internationally, walking her Goldendoodle, as well as reading historical fiction or fantasy books.
